CEX Volume Spikes

basic

Volume bursts on Bybit perps (BTC, ETH, SOL) — 3× the recent average, when something starts moving.

What it is

Trading volume on a Bybit BTC, ETH, or SOL perpetual jumps to at least 3× its recent average in a single 5-minute window — a sudden burst of activity on one of the deepest, most liquid books in crypto.

Why it matters

A price move on thin volume can fade quietly. A move riding a 3×+ volume burst usually has real flow behind it — the surge is often the first sign a market is waking up, before it's obvious on the chart.

How to read the alert

Treat a spike as a cue to pull up the chart, not a signal on its own. If you're watching a level, the spike tells you whether the push through it has real flow behind it or is likely to fade.
